Continence supplies for Supported Independent Living
In SIL settings, continence supplies are usually organised per participant, used by rotating support staff, and reordered under time pressure. A predictable cycle removes most of that friction.
This guide is about supply organisation and purchasing. It is not clinical guidance and does not replace a continence assessment by an appropriately qualified professional.

Why SIL supply management is difficult
Several participants with different needs, different sizes and different routines share one house and one storage space. Staff change across shifts, stock is not always visible, and shortfalls are often discovered at the point of a change rather than in advance.
- • Products bought from several sources
- • Sizes mixed up between participants
- • Stock levels unclear across shifts
- • Urgent top-up purchases at retail prices
Organise by participant, not by house
Sanivy supplies are built around one person’s reported usage. Keeping a supply per participant makes it clear what belongs to whom, which size is correct, and whether the quantity actually matches the routine.
What a Supported supply contains
Supported supplies coordinate everything an assisted change usually needs, so separate ordering of consumables is not required.
Each supply includes tabbed briefs, 60 × 90 cm protective underpads, continence wipes, nitrile gloves, foaming cleanser and barrier cream in quantities matched to the tier. Delivery is calculated and charged separately.
| Reported changes per day | Supply | 28-day price |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Supported 1 | $150 |
| 2 | Supported 2 | $300 |
| 3 | Supported 3 | $400 |
| 4 | Supported 4 | $550 |
Sizing across a house
Record each participant’s waist or hip measurement and the selected brief size so staff are not choosing by guesswork. Glove sizes can also be confirmed per house or per staff team before a supply is finalised.
Purchasing and invoicing
How a supply is paid for depends on the participant’s plan management arrangement. Sanivy can discuss invoicing with the organisation or plan manager, but does not determine NDIS funding eligibility or approve plan spending.
Reviewing supplies over time
Usage changes. Reviewing quantities before a future dispatch is more efficient than absorbing repeated shortfalls or building up unused stock.
What to do next
Refer a participant with the details you have, or review a suggested supply first so you know exactly what you are discussing with the plan manager or family.
